Helena Haapio, LL.M., MQ
International Contract Counsel, Lexpert Ltd
Helena Haapio works as International Contract Counsel for Lexpert Ltd (www.lexpert.com) based in Helsinki, Finland. She supports corporate clients in succeeding in cross-border contractual (ad)ventures, helping them use contracts to get better business results and stay out of legal trouble. Before founding Lexpert Ltd Helena served for several years as in-house Legal Counsel for Wärtsilä Group companies in Finland, Norway, Sweden and the United States, and three years as General Counsel for one of the Group's Divisions. Her responsibilities included drafting and negotiating contracts for complex international projects, acquisitions, joint ventures, distributorships, sales and licensing transactions. She also arranged in-house training in related fields and was nominated "Export Trainer of the Year" by Finnish Institute for International Trade. Helena is a member of the IACCM Advisory Council and the founder and co-ordinator or IACCM Finland. She is actively involved in the development of the ProActive ThinkTank (www.proactivethinktank.com) and the Nordic School of Proactive Law (www.proactivelaw.org). She also acts as arbitrator.
 

Linda Baines
Head of Commercial Development, Science and Technology Facilities Council
Linda Baines is Head of Commercial Development at the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC), UK. She is responsible for developing STFC’s strategic external relationships including research collaborations and the underpinning commercial and contractual arrangements, including joint ventures, exploitation of IP (through CLIK, STFC’s technology transfer company) with a wide range of outside organisations in the industry, government and academia in the UK and overseas. Linda is the Treasurer of AURIL (Association of University Research and Industry Links and chairs AURIL’s CPD Steering Group which oversees the development of the AURIL Continuing Professional Development framework. She is a Director of the Institute of Knowledge Transfer (ITK – see: http://www.ikt.org.uk), and Head of its Membership Services. As a qualified procurement professional with extensive experience of complex strategic projects, Linda is a member of the Chartered of Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS) and a qualified knowledge transfer professional (MIKT). Linda is also actively involved in the development of the ProActive ThinkTank.

 
Claude Mayer
EMEA Contract Manager - Claude has gained her expertise in ICT Outsourcing, contract management, risk management and project management working for the past 10 years for an ICT corporation where she developed additional knowledge on 6Sigma and ITIL and internal international process development. Previously, Claude spent 10 years working and living in Tokyo, Japan, where she developed her company acting as a business accelerator for European and Japanese Enterprises, supporting them in their marketing and business development activities on both the Japanese and European Markets. She acted as a consultant for European companies wishing to set their establishment in Japan.  She has obtained her MBA at École des Ponts-et-Chaussées, in Paris her L.L.M, Master of International Private Law, majoring in Commercial and Contract Management at Helsinki University.

 

Kaisa Sorsa

Turku University of Applied Sciences, Deparment of Life Sciences and Business
Kaisa Sorsa is Principal Lecturer and Degree Programme Manager at the Turku University of applied Sciences. She has studied business administration in Turku School of Economics and law at University of Turku. She holds a doctoral degree in Science of Economics and Business Administration, at University of Vaasa. The thesis, published in 2003, is entitled "The Legal Framework for the Productizing of Timeshare. The comparative law research concerning Spanish, British and Finnish timeshare legislation". Since 2004, she has researched in the area of contract law and legislative studies. She is a post-doc researcher in project consortium Corporate Contracting Capabilities.
 

Eric van de Luytgaarden
Professor for Innovation of the Legal Profession
Utrecht University of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Legal Studies and Social Work, Social Innovation Research Centre
Eric van de Luytgaarden is professor for innovation of the legal profession at the Utrecht University of Applied Sciences. He is also business consultant at NPI institute for organisation development. He is vice-president of the Utrecht Research Centre for Social Innovation. He studied Law, Philosophy and Psychology at Groningen State University and worked for 10 years as a judge in the district courts of Leeuwarden and Amsterdam (Social Security and Civil Servant law) . For 14 years he was an assistant and later associate professor of jurisprudence and philosophy of law at Utrecht State University. During that period he was also visiting professor for human rights and constitutionalism at Charles University in Prague (Czech Republic), Warsaw (Poland), Torun (Poland) and Sofia (Bulgaria) by order of the Dutch Helsinki Committee. As a business consultant he managed major change projects in public government. He is advisor of several academic and professional institutions in the Netherlands (e.g. Universities, the Dutch Bar Association and private legal entrepreneurs). He has different executive functions in the Netherlands mostly in the non-profit sector.

He published more then 125 articles in several books mostly on topics relating to humanity, social innovation and law and his lectures are in great demand.
